If you don't see or hear from me in a while, it could be for a variety of reasons. Some of which include...
1. I may be at work, where I work hard for the money. So you better treat me right.
2. I may have possibly OD'd on a variety of chocolate desserts. In which case you would have to send me to the Betty Crocker clinic. (Sorry, that never gets old.)
3. I may be hanging out with my friend Phoebe while she is in the great state of OK, before she heads to China, and leaves us all behind. When she's in town, much alcohol is consumed. Good times are had by all.
4. I may be hanging out at home, catching up on Seasons 4 and 5 of The L Word. Or reading the fourth book in the Twilight series. Or catching up on sleep. Sleep would be fantastic. Did I mention my boyfriend rules? He's a great gift giver. And that's why I titled my blog the way I did.
Happy Holidays, blog readers! Hope you eat lots of good food, have a great time with your loved ones, and stay warm. Peace and love to you all!

This should make you a little weepy.
This was a story posted on a friend's Myspace bulletin. True story. Great message. It's on the ESPN website.
They played the oddest game in high school football history last month down in Grapevine, Texas.
It was Grapevine Faith vs. Gainesville State School and everything about it was upside down. For instance, when Gainesville came out to take the field, the Faith fans made a 40-yard spirit line for them to run through.
Did you hear that? The other team's fans?
They even made a banner for players to crash through at the end. It said, "Go Tornadoes!" Which is also weird, because Faith is the Lions.
It was rivers running uphill and cats petting dogs. More than 200 Faith fans sat on the Gainesville side and kept cheering the Gainesville players on—by name.
"I never in my life thought I'd hear people cheering for us to hit their kids," recalls Gainesville's QB and middle linebacker, Isaiah. "I wouldn't expect another parent to tell somebody to hit their kids.
But they wanted us to!"
And even though Faith walloped them 33-14, the Gainesville kids were so happy that after the game they gave head coach Mark Williams a sideline squirt-bottle shower like he'd just won state. Gotta be the first Gatorade bath in history for an 0-9 coach.
But then you saw the 12 uniformed officers escorting the 14 Gainesville players off the field and two and two started to make four. They lined the players up in groups of five—handcuffs ready in their back pockets—and marched them to the team bus. That's because Gainesville is a maximum-security correctional facility 75 miles north of Dallas. Every game it plays is on the road.
This all started when Faith's head coach, Kris Hogan, wanted to do something kind for the Gainesville team. Faith had never played Gainesville, but he already knew the score. After all, Faith was 7-2 going into the game, Gainesville 0-8 with 2 TDs all year. Faith has 70 kids, 11 coaches, the latest equipment and involved parents. Gainesville has a lot of kids with convictions for drugs, assault and robbery—many of whose families had disowned them—wearing seven-year-old shoulder pads and ancient helmets.
So Hogan had this idea. What if half of our fans—for one night only—cheered for the other team? He sent out an email asking the Faithful to do just that. "Here's the message I want you to send:" Hogan wrote. "You are just as valuable as any other person on planet Earth.
"
Some people were naturally confused.
One Faith player walked into Hogan's office and asked, "Coach, why are we doing this?"
And Hogan said, "Imagine if you didn't have a home life. Imagine if everybody had pretty much given up on you. Now imagine what it would mean for hundreds of people to suddenly believe in you.
"
Next thing you know, the Gainesville Tornadoes were turning around on their bench to see something they never had before. Hundreds of fans.
And actual cheerleaders!
"I thought maybe they were confused," said Alex, a Gainesville lineman (only first names are released by the prison). "They started yelling 'DEE-fense!' when their team had the ball.
I said, 'What? Why they cheerin' for us?'"
It was a strange experience for boys who most people cross the street to avoid. "We can tell people are a little afraid of us when we come to the games," says Gerald, a lineman who will wind up doing more than three years. "You can see it in their eyes. They're lookin' at us like we're criminals.
But these people, they were yellin' for us! By our names!"
Maybe it figures that Gainesville played better than it had all season, scoring the game's last two touchdowns. Of course, this might be because Hogan put his third-string nose guard at safety and his third-string cornerback at defensive end. Still.
After the game, both teams gathered in the middle of the field to pray and that's when Isaiah surprised everybody by asking to lead. "We had no idea what the kid was going to say," remembers Coach Hogan. But Isaiah said this: "Lord, I don't know how this happened, so I don't know how to say thank You, but I never would've known there was so many people in the world that cared about us.
"
And it was a good thing everybody's heads were bowed because they might've seen Hogan wiping away tears.
As the Tornadoes walked back to their bus under guard, they each were handed a bag for the ride home—a burger, some fries, a soda, some candy, a Bible and an encouraging letter from a Faith player.
The Gainesville coach saw Hogan, grabbed him hard by the shoulders and said, "You'll never know what your people did for these kids tonight. You'll never, ever know."
And as the bus pulled away, all the Gainesville players crammed to one side and pressed their hands to the window, staring at these people they'd never met before, watching their waves and smiles disappearing into the night.
Anyway, with the economy six feet under and Christmas running on about three and a half reindeer, it's nice to know that one of the best presents you can give is still absolutely free.
Hope.

Something to think about.
Can someone please tell me why Kanye West has a career? He's the most arrogant a-hole I've ever heard of, ungrateful for the success he's had, he screwed up big time at Bonaroo, and now he screwed up on SNL. News flash, Kanye... you're not God. I don't like you and I don't like your music. You're the opposite of what a role model should be. And that's all I have to say about that.

I've been a bad, bad girl...
Where to start? Maybe the FIVE chocolate chip cookies I had for breakfast yesterday? Maybe because all the candy cane flavored Hershey's Kisses will be gone before anyone comes over for Christmas? Maybe because I'm just not good at the holidays, and I don't need any more food temptations staring me in the eye everytime I turn around. No, I've not really been a bad girl, but...
I did take my third Twilight book, Eclipse, which is a gift from Clint, out from under the tree and read it. I finished it last night! If he would have wrapped it himself and stuck it under the tree, I would have never known what it was. Instead he asks me if I want the books for Christmas, I say yes, when they arrive he asks ME to wrap them and put them under the tree. So I put them in a gift bag with no tissue paper. Just a book. In a bag. Easy to take in and out. The problem started because I began reading Eclipse at work. Someone left the book there, and I couldn't wait until Christmas to start reading it. They came and picked up their book just as it was getting good. What was a girl to do? Now I have to put it back and try my very best to keep the fourth book under the tree. I think I can do that much.

I heart you, holidays...
but I'm kinda ready for you to be over, so life can go back to business as usual. After yet ANOTHER trip to Target, where I spent even more money on holiday goodness, I came home and made little holiday bags for tomorrow night's Christmas soiree. I'm not kidding when I say I should own stock in Target. It's ridiculous how much of my income is sucked away by that little red and white bullseye. Damn you, Target! Anyway, after making holiday bags with little bottles of Bailey's, hot cocoa mix, and chocolate, I made cranberry fluff for my work Christmas fiesta, which turned out YUMMY! It's in the fridge right now, soaking up flavor for tomorrow. Thanks, Brandi!
I thought about doing my yoga DVD again, but seriously... I am still so freaking sore! I can't believe it worked my abs like that. I'm going to need all the help I can get since I seem to be trying to eat my weight in sweet holiday treats. We're supposed to have a chocolate lava cake at tomorrow night's shin-dig. Today at work I had the most amazing thing ever. It was a graham cracker with a toffee topping. Apparently, you take two sticks of butter, brown sugar, and pecans, and warm that up to make the topping. Then just drizzle it on a graham cracker. Maybe bake it for about 5 minutes and you're done.
I think I forgot the point of this blog. Not that there was much of a point, but I guess it's this. I'm already overdosing on sugar and it's still a week before Christmas. If you don't hear from me for a while, it's because I'm in a sugar coma. I'm reminded of the Sex and the City where Miranda eats cake out of the trash can. Then she calls Carrie and tells her what she did. "You will probably need this information when you check me in to the Betty Crocker clinic." I love it! If I could figure out how to add a You Tube video, I'd post it. I'll have to figure that out soon!

I'm back...
I haven't blogged in a few days and I kinda missed it! I don't know why, I don't think too many people read my silly little blog, but I enjoy it anyway. I had a crappy couple of days, maybe the holiday stress, maybe the weather, but I was just feeling a little down and lonely. And a little frustrated. I'm a chick, though, and I think we're allowed a few days to feel like that from time to time! I'm back to my normal self, though, and I'm feeling positive and motivated! I am, however, ready for this whole "Holiday 2008" month to be over with. So this is a little of what's been going on with me:
**Clint and I went and purchased items from the little girl we got off the Angel Tree. It was so fun to buy stuff for her, even though we don't know her, and won't be there to see her open her gifts. She's only a year old anyway, so it's nice that we can take a load off of whoever is raising her. We got two little outfits, both super cute, some little Disney shoes, a Disney princess doll, a pink sparkly purse, and a tiara with pink fuzzy stuff. I hope they love it!
**I started doing a little yoga today. A while back, maybe quite a while back, I found a couple of DVD's that had great customer reviews, but never really opened them up. How sad is that?! I make excuses all the time for not exercising, and it has to stop! I'm so tired of not being happy with my body, and not fitting in to any of my old clothes. SO... I can't beleive how achy my muscles feel after doing it! It was a much better workout than I anticipated, and now I feel motivated to work out, just so I can keep up with the silly DVD!
**I found a great resource for keeping me motivated and positive, and I feel like I've already goined so much valuable information from it... the website is www.morningcoach.com, and they have daily podcasts you can subscribe to on Itunes. Since I finished reading the Secret, I felt like doing a little more digging around into the whole "Law of Attraction" phenomenon. The Secret was a great book to start with, but I felt like it tried to simplify things a bit too much, and left out some key elements. At the same time, I was learning about podcasts from a friend of mine, and stumbled upon the morning coach podcasts. I found a few more great ones, but they are more random, and not updated daily. I feel like a lot of changes are coming my way, and I feel really excited about it!
**The tree is up, and all ornaments are on it! Finally! Clint nagged me for weeks, so I took my sweet time with it. I can't believe we have three trees, or two and a half really. One is in the living room, and fully decorated. One is in the guest bedroom, with lights and bulbs only. It's visible from the front of the house, and the lights match the outdoor house lights. The third is a little tree we placed right by the front door. It came with lights on it, and it's in a pot, I guess to look outdoorsy? If I get a chance, I'll have to post pics of our holiday decorations! I've been meaning to post pics of the house anyway! Christmas cards have been sent, and now I look forward to all the get togethers. Yippee!
I am now off to watch a little of Mad Men Season 1, before I doze off. It's a really good show, I can't wait to find time to really watch a marathon of it, instead of falling asleep to it! G'night, peeps!

These are a few of my favorite things...
I thought about calling this "Callie's Favorite Things", but when Oprah does that, she actually gives things away. And I didn't want to disappoint anyone, because you don't get anything in return for reading my blog. You just get the joy of knowing what I'm a little obsessed with lately =)
1. Twilight - Okay, duh, this is just a given. If you haven't at least heard of the Twilight series, you MUST be living under a rock. I got on the Twilight bandwagon thanks to the girls at work. All I have to say is, how can you NOT think Edward Cullen is a super duper mega HOTTIE!? And the worst part is, I thought Jasper was just as cute. The problem with that... I'm twice the actor's age! I feel like a dirty, creepy lady that should never be allowed a teaching license. BUT... if you take into account his vampire age, he's really much older than me. Call me crazy but you can't go wrong with a high school vampire romance book series. Get on the bandwagon!

2. 302 Skincare - Love it! My skin thanks me every single day I wash, tone, and moisturize my face. I'm hoping I can start retailing it soon, that's how much I love it. It's completely free of any acids, and it's active ingredient is some crazy molecule that comes from the avocado. The serum smells a little weird, but it's totally worth it!
3. Passionberi - Once again, someone from work turned me on to this place, and it's fabulous! Passionberi is a little frozen yogurt place in Norman that has the BEST fro yo I've ever had. I think they lace it with crack, it's that addicting. I get the green tea fro yo with fresh fruit toppings. They have pomegranate, pineapple, mango, kiwi, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and other non fruit toppings. We're obsessed with mochi, these little Japanese rice things that are like marshmallows. You can make your own smoothie too, but I get the same thing every time! And it's so healthy!!
4. Amy's Southwestern Burrito's - I mentioned in a previous blog, maybe my 50 blog, that I love to eat. I wasn't kidding! My Favorite Things post will always contain food faves! These are great to take to work, because they are fast and filling. And this flavor is a little spicy. Yummy!
5. Sooner Football - I can't believe college football season is almost coming to an end! OU plays in the Big 12 Championship tonight, and hopefully that win will lead us to a spot in the National Championship game. I was so excited that I got to go to two home games this year... the first against Chattanooga, and then the last one against Texas Tech. The game against Tech was by far the BEST game I've ever been to. It was crazy fun, loud and unforgettable! Not to mention, I was just excited to hang out with my little brother, Daniel.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
and I'm finally starting to feel a little like Christmas, as well. I usually get a little stressed out around the holidays, but as of today, I'm just starting to feel a little spirited. I think one of the reasons I start feeling stressed out is the whole gift giving tradition. As you get older, it's just not as fun anymore. And I'm not a good gift giver! You know how some people just have a "gift giving talent"? I'm not one of those people. My immediate family is easy. My mom just e-mails me a list of what everybody wants, including what she wants. Not to mention, she always keeps it in my price range. Which is a whole other reason I get stressed out. Because I work for myself, and my income is highly dependent on my clientele, I never know what I'm going to make week to week. But I do know that it's usually not a lot. And... this is a big AND... right to the point, I'm just plain selfish. I go to the stores intending to buy gifts (for other people), and I come home with what I want for Christmas. This years case, so far, it's a pair of black Uggs, sweater boot style. Do I have the money to buy a pair of Uggs? No! Do they look absolutely fabulous with black leggings and a long shirt? As a matter of fact they do.
Okay, I'm getting totally off track, I just get a little excited when designer footwear is involved. What I'm getting at is that this year, I have decided that my friends do not need Christmas gifts. Neither do I for that matter. I am going to give gifts to children that actually NEED things. If you don't already know about it, there is a program through the Salvation Army called the Angel Tree. In Norman, they have trees set up around town, and you can go get a name off of a tree. It has the child's first name, their age, their size, and what they need/want for Christmas. After purchasing the gifts, you take them to the Salvation Army, and they deliver the gifts to the child, or to the family. When I worked at Olive Garden in college, we hosted an Angel Tree party, and it was awesome! We had about 20 kids, of all ages, that the employees bought gifts for. They got to eat a yummy meal and open presents, and they were so excited! The kids we had out that year were foster children that didn't have homes, so it was great to give them things they wouldn't have otherwise had for Christmas.
I highly encourage all of you to do something like this for the holiday season. I feel like every year we get a little more off track, and we seem to forget what the holiday season really means. I know I certainly don't NEED any more silly material items. And I can't think of a single person in my life who really does. Everyone I know is so fortunate and blessed to have a happy, comfortable life, so why not give to someone who's not so fortunate this year?!

Everyone I know is so fortunate and blessed to have a happy, comfortable life, so why not give to someone who's not so fortunate this year?!
