One week

Today makes a week that I've been single now. It's much easier to say I've been single for a week than it is to say "I got dumped" or "he broke up with me" a week ago. I'm definitely feeling better now than I was when I wrote those last two blogs. It was really a rough few days, and I certainly don't know how I would've made it through with my friends and family. Now I'm focusing on me, for the first time in who knows how long. I'm focusing on me, and now I don't have to feel selfish about it. I can't wait to be in a new house, one I can fill with new memories.

I keep telling myself, "It's called a break-up because it's broken." I think that comes from the He's Just Not That Into You book. But it's true. It shouldn't have been so shocking. Now that I've had some time to get over the initial shock, I know there were signs, and I guess I was in denial. Oh well. All I can do now is look forward. Pick myself up, dust myself off, and be the fabulous woman that I am. Have fun being single for a bit. Do the things I never got to do the last few years. Find a new amazing man... one who actually takes me out and shows me a good time(more than once a year!). Focus on building my career. Spend time on my friendships... new ones and old ones. No more saying no to drink invitations. Try to run a mile without stopping. Lose 5 more pounds. Make my new house a home. Watch my reality TV shows without grumbling noises in the background.

I can't say it enough... my friends and family are AWESOME! And they've gone above and beyond in making me feel better. Thanks, ladies!!

I can't sleep...

All I can think about is how I found a box of my books in the garage the other day, and how I took every book out of the box and placed in on the shelf in the hallway. These books have been unpacked less than a week, and now I have to find that box, and place every single book back in the box, and take that box to a new home. I know a new home will be a clean slate, a fresh start. When we moved in, I thought that was it. I was finally done moving. I was settled and we were going to make our lives in our new home. I just don't understand how you can help someone unpack a box of books, if you know you aren't in love with them anymore. One moment, I felt wanted, I felt like I belonged here... and now I feel like I'm stuck in a house with someone who's throwing me away. One of the hardest things is seeing him lay on the couch, like he does everyday, like nothing has changed. Knowing he doesn't have to pack a thing... he gets to just sit on the couch and watch me walk out the door. More than anything, I miss him saying "I love you" every time I walk out the door.

Where does the good go?

My first blog in a while... and I wish I was blogging about good news, but I'm not.

Saturday night, when I got home from the Kings of Leon concert, I basically had my heart ripped out of my chest and stomped on... the man that I've been in love with for the past two and a half years, the man that I thought I was eventually going marry has completely broken my heart and destroyed my faith all together. Before he came along, I was very cynical when it came to love. I dated all the wrong guys and my relationships never lasted more than six weeks. When Clint came into my life, it was such a pleasant surprise. I was already comfortable with the fact I was going to spend my life as a single gal, and I had made peace with that.

Now I'm stuck in the same house with my ex-boyfriend until I can find a place of my own. The worst part is, when we moved in together, I sold all of my stuff. I have nothing. I have nothing and I feel completely empty inside. I honestly had no idea I could hurt this much. I just want to know when the pain goes away...

Tea Time

So, one of the things I did while I was in Boulder, was take a tour of the Celestial Seasonings tea facility. If you are a fan of hot tea, like myself, I highly suggest stopping by if you are ever in the Boulder area. For one thing, it's free! And... you get to sample as many teas as your taste buds will allow. We started off with the tea tasting, where I tried some really delicious hot teas, including some that I never would've thought to try.

(Like the English Toffee tea. But add a little soy milk and sugar, and yumm-o. It's like dessert in a glass.)

I also fell in love with a seasonal Candy Cane tea, which I will definitely be consuming lots of during the holidays! All the teas I tasted were super yummy, but those are the two that really stood out...

Next, we started the official tour. We began with a video about the company, then put on our hair nets, and headed to the production area. At different places, we would stop while the tour guide gave us info on different things going on, but I didn't find too much technical detail to be all that interesing. My favorite part was the "mint room". Because mint is so strong and powerful, they have to seperate it from everything else. So they made a room just for the peppermint and spearmint. When you walk in, it's like instant sinus relief. It smelled so good, I didn't want to leave! After the tour, we browsed the gift shop. Lots of fun stuff there. Kendra and I both bought environmentally friendly, reusable, stainless water bottles. I also bought a super cute bag by Bungalow 360, with the recycle logo all over. I could've easily stocked up on tea, but since all I packed was a carry on, I didn't have any extra room.

One thing I did learn during the tour, something that warmed my little environmentally friendly heart... by not putting little paper tags on their tea bags, not using strings, staples, or wrappers, and by packaging the product in 100% recycable boxes, they save 3.5 million pounds of waste each year! I will definitely be buying more Celestial Seasonings tea!

This is kind of unrelated, but did you know that peppermint tea is wonderful for an upset tummy? I learned that years ago, and always keep a supply of mint tea at home. I can't remember the last time I had to take Pepto Bismol for a tummyache. Hot peppermint tea does the trick every time.

In the bedroom...

As you may or may not know, I have been searching for new pillowcases for our bed for quite some time. You probably did not know that, because I haven't blogged in like, forever. So, I didn't want to really invest in a new bedding set, or spend a lot of money... just some silly pillowcases. We had the plain 'ol vanilla bedding, thanks to Clint, but I need color, so I threw one of my blankets on top, which was red.

(Which looked terrible, because the pillowcases were a light sage green).

Well, today was the day I finally found something I love! I've included before/after photos. I'm very pleased with the outcome, and can't wait to curl up in bed tonight.

BEFORE... A little fuzzy, but that's a good thing. You can't see how hideous it is.

AFTER... I even cleaned and dusted the end tables!

How cute is that little pillow?

Shopping Spree

Last week, I drove my SUV to Penn Square Mall, and somehow managed to park in a super tiny parking space. If I didn't know any better, I would think I accidentally picked a spot reserved for compact cars, but no... all the spaces are like that. Lucky for me, I came prepared with a Victoria's Secret gift card my mom gave me for my b-day, and some kick ass coupons to The Limited. Wanna see what I found?

I bought this super cute shirt at The Limited the other day, and can't wait to wear it.

I also bought a super fun belt, although I'm not quite sure what to wear it with yet. I've always liked belts, but for some reason, never wear them.

And I love this tee... it's a little dressy, but it's still just a tee. Comfy and cute!

At VS, I finally bought a hoodie from their Pink collegiate collection. I've been wanting one of their collegiate items for a while, but couldn't justify spending this much on a hoodie. Not with all the little shops all over Norman... where you can find cute and super affordable OU stuff. I can't wait for football season! Clint and I have tix to the OU-Baylor game, which isn't until mid-October. I'm hoping it's a night game, and it will be cool enough to wear this!

I also bought some jeans. A pair of fabulous, worn in, ripped pair. The kind my mom would say I'm too old to wear. Ummm... whatever! In my mind, you're never too old to have holes in your jeans!

Since I've been absent from the Blogger community for over a month, I have not yet blogged about my CO vacation! Next blog, I promise... I'll even include a couple pics.

Hmmm...

I just realized it's been over a month since I last blogged.

Maybe tomorrow I'll think of something to blog about...
